I have had a Logitech USB headset for a few months now. I have had no problems until now. Today, I logged into my computer, to find that my audio is not coming through my headset. SO, i pulled out the USB, and put it back in, then the original name of the headset changed (i do not remember the name) to lync audio device and still no sound is coming through. I've also noticed that the red light that indicates ether or not my mic on the headset is muted has dimmed. it is not as visible as it used to be. I have been very careful with the wires that connect my headset to my computer, and they are out of the way from any disruption. So to sum
-headset not working
-name of device has changed to lync audio device on my computer
-Mute indicator light has dimmed
-Microphone is receiving sound, but is not carrying it (not talking on discord for example)

I am unsure if windows updated last night (2/26/17), not sure if that could cause problems.

Is it happening to a specific contact? If you’re using Skype for Windows 10 (UWP), then it adapts the audio settings on your device. I suggest you try this instructions below and check if issue persist.
1. You may check on the audio settings on your device and see if there are on muted or on low volume.
2. Check on the software drivers of your audio device and make sure it’s updated. You may visit the Manufacturer’s website for the latest update.
3. Make sure that you choose the specific audio device on the audio settings on Skype.
4. You may do a test call (Echo Test) and check on the issue.

So I just bought a Logitech g430 gaming headset, and I tried to install it. I downloaded the software on the Logitech website, and plugged in the headset with USB dongle. However after everything updated and drivers were installed, I tried to test the sound by playing some music on YouTube. however the sound came through my laptop speakers instead of the headset. In fact no sound came from the headset on anything I tried. I even opened the software and tried to test the surround sound feature by turning it on and nothing happened. Also when I gave up and unplugged the headset and I replace it with my old ear-buds, no sound comes through at all. I have to restart the laptop to make the sound work again. I would really like someone's help in trying to solve this problem. By the way, I ordered the headset on Amazon.
Logitech's wireless headsets with microphones are designed for Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) computer telephony and gaming. The advantage of a wireless headset in telephony is that you can move around the room and continue a conversation. Problems with the Logitech wireless headsets can include faint or no sound, people not hearing you, no connection and no indicator lights. These can be rectified by following some troubleshooting steps.

Turn the computer on and make sure the adapter is fully inserted into a USB jack if there's no light. Look for a light on the power adapter if the headset doesn't charge. You may need to try a different jack or power socket. Fully charge the headset, then switch the headset off and on again if it won't work. Look for a status light on the wireless adapter. Move the headset closer to the wireless adapter if the headset can't establish a connection. Connection problems are indicated by flashing green lights.
Step 2
Press the 'Volume Up' button, which is located on the right headphone on most Logitech wireless headsets, if you don't hear any sound from the headset. Take a look at the application settings in the software that you are using. In the Skype VOIP application, for example, look at the audio speaker settings and slide the bar to the right.
Rotate the microphone so that it's inline with your mouth if other people can't hear your voice. The red light on the microphone boom signals that the 'mute' feature is on.
